Your files

Every operation — opening a PDF, adding text or a signature, reordering pages, compressing, exporting — happens locally, in the tab you have open. The file is read by your browser and never sent to a server.

While you work, the document is kept in your browser’s local storage (IndexedDB) so that an accidentally closed tab does not lose your edits. It stays on your device. Choosing “Start over” in the restore prompt, closing the document, or clearing site data in your browser removes it permanently.

What we do collect

We count how the editor is used, so we know which features matter. An event records: the name of the action (for example “export” or “tool used”), the time, and at most a short label plus a few numbers — which tool, how many pages, how many elements.

Events use a temporary random session identifier held only in memory while this tab is open. We do not store a visitor identifier in cookies or localStorage and do not recognise returning visitors. Event history is retained for up to 90 days; expired entries are removed when new events arrive or the report is opened.

We never record file names, file contents, page text, or anything you type into a document.

Daily backups of usage statistics are stored privately in Cloudflare R2. Backups expire after 7 days; storage-provider deletion can take up to an additional day. Documents from your browser are not included.

Cookies and third parties

OopsPDF sets no cookies and embeds no advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics.

The site is served by a hosting provider, which — like any web server — processes IP addresses in order to deliver the page and to limit abusive traffic. We do not store IP addresses in our own database.

Your rights

Your documents stay on your device. Clearing this site’s data removes the saved document and language preference. We cannot identify you by name in usage statistics; contact us with any privacy request.
